What is actually being sold

ODI lists its NOMAD Off-Road V2 Lock-On Grip set at $39.95 US on October 22, 2026. It specifies D3O GRIP material, a medium 31.5 mm outside diameter, raised cushioning pads, finger-traction features and reinforced ends. The kit includes a throttle tube and cams B, C, D, J, K and M. Some motorcycles need an additional cam. [1]

The name is not evidence of a newly launched second-generation NOMAD. ODI’s July 15, 2025 manufacturer release already introduced NOMAD using the V2 Lock-On name and D3O material. V2 identifies the lock-on system in this context; we found no separate manufacturer announcement establishing a fresh 2026 NOMAD V2 redesign. This is a current product explainer, not a claim of a new release. [2]

Keep the vibration claim in its lane

ODI advertises twice the vibration damping from its D3O GRIP material. The product page does not give enough test-method or comparison-baseline detail to translate that into a measured reduction at your hands on a particular motorcycle. We have not independently tested the claim, and it should not be read as a guarantee of less fatigue or a treatment for discomfort. [1]

D3O confirms that its ODI partnership concerns anti-vibration materials and grip design. That supports the connection to vibration damping specifically; there is no need to infer grip performance merely from D3O’s better-known impact-protection applications. The partnership statement is still manufacturer information, not an independent comparison of complete grips on your bike. [3]

Our buying question is whether you want this diameter, surface and lock-on arrangement in your normal gloves. Ask to handle a sample if possible. A material name cannot decide how the finished grip feels in your hand, and a dimension cannot establish comfort by itself. Record what bothers you about the present setup so the purchase has a concrete purpose rather than a general promise of improvement.

The cam is part of the fitment

ODI’s separate V2 Snap-Cam page lists compatible V2 grip systems and certain Fusion throttle tubes, with individual cams at $3.50 on the check date. It directs buyers to the application guide. A bag containing several cams does not mean every motorcycle is covered; identify the exact bike, year and throttle assembly before ordering. [4]

The currently linked 2026 motorcycle application guide includes a V2 installation sheet. It requires the correct cam and cable seating, notes that cable adjustment can be necessary, and addresses interference at opened grip ends. It also warns that some aggressively knurled aftermarket bars can prevent installation. Stop and seek compatibility advice if the parts do not fit; do not force them or improvise a modification. [5]

Use the instructions for the actual motorcycle and grip system, including the throttle-return checks and fastener requirements. Have a qualified technician complete work you cannot verify. Full-wrap handguards add another clearance interface to check; a grip end that has been opened needs the prescribed closure arrangement. This article is not a throttle-installation procedure or permission to borrow instructions from ODI bicycle grips. [5]

Judge the whole purchase

For a practical quote, include the grips, any correct extra cam and installation if needed. Ask the installer to identify the supplied cam against the current chart, especially if the motorcycle has an aftermarket throttle housing. Keep the packaging and fitment information with the bike’s records. The small component that makes the assembly compatible deserves attention before the larger material claim becomes the reason to buy.

When reviewing the choice after riding, separate personal preference from a performance conclusion. You can record whether the shape suits your gloves and whether you prefer its feel, without claiming to have measured vibration. If the result is not what you expected, return to that original problem statement. NOMAD’s documented features make it a specific option to investigate; they do not establish it as the best grip for every rider.
